I am 35 years old and I have been playing golf, on this golf course, since I was 11. I was born and raised in Franklin and played golf for Freedom Middle and Centennial High School. I am currently in the process of working my way through the PGA Associates program to obtain PGA membership. I am certified in both the Operation 36 and PGA ADM instruction models.

Hi, I’m James and I have a beautiful little boy and love getting to teach golf! I was a lead instructor at the Lion Golf Academy with experience teaching both children and adults of all ages and skill levels. I am a certified golftec instructor and worked as a club fitter for TaylorMade golf. I have played professional golf on the PGA Germany’s Pro Golf Tour. I have also played for the university of Hawaii-Hilo’s golf team. I am very committed and driven to help golfers be the best they can and hopefully get more people to love the game of golf.

I am a dedicated golf professional and coach with a passion for helping players develop their
skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. My experience in golf has included coaching
juniors and adults, golf operations, customer service, tournament support, outside services, retail, and golf course maintenance—giving me a well-rounded understanding of the game and the golf industry. As I continue my journey through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program, my goal is to grow as both a golf professional and a coach. I believe effective coaching goes beyond
teaching the golf swing. It means understanding the individual, developing sound fundamentals,
improving course management, building confidence, and helping golfers learn how to perform when it matters. My own experience as a competitive golfer continues to influence the way I coach. At Cheekwood Golf Club, I am committed to creating a welcoming and professional coaching
environment where beginners can become comfortable with the game and experienced golfers
can continue developing their ability to score and perform. My coaching philosophy is simple: teach the player, not just the swing.
